Acne may settle with time, but the marks it leaves behind can sometimes be more difficult to manage than the acne itself. Not all acne scars are the same: some are narrow and deep (ice-pick scars), some are broad with sharp edges (boxcar scars), and some give the skin a wave-like texture (rolling scars).
Because each type sits differently in the skin, there is rarely a single treatment that suits everyone. Options such as microneedling, fractional lasers, chemical peels and subcision are often combined, and the right plan depends on your scar type, skin type and whether your acne is still active.
